FLIGHTPLAN RECORDS – New Releases from Title Fight and Memorial
—————————————————
* Title Fight 7 inch Kingston available now
* Memorial (ex-Renee Heartfelt) 12 inch Berlin / The Creative Process out in March

Philly’s Flightplan Records is kicking off 2008 with new releases from Title Fight (Kingston, P.A.) and Memorial (Richmond, V.A.). You can stream songs from both bands on their respective myspace pages, as well as the label’s myspace page.

Title Fight takes its cues from 90’s emotional punk and explosive hardcore, and the three tracks on Kingston showcase a young band with an impressive array of rugged melodies and unforgettable choruses. Their enthusiasm and energy will make you smile but it’s Title Fight’s dynamic songwriting that will have listeners coming back for more.

You can pick up a copy of the 7 inch here. Limited to 500, Kingston is available in translucent blue, white, black and green vinyl.

Memorial — which features Renee Heartfelt front man Peter Appleby — will release its debut, Berlin / The Creative Process, in March on Flightplan Records. Originally scheduled for release as two separate 7 inches by Revelation Records, Flightplan will now offer these eight songs in a limited pressing of 500 on red, white or blue 12-inch vinyl.

Anyone who is mourning the breakup of the extremely-underrated Renee Heartfelt or finds themselves really missing Quicksand, watch out for this amazing album.

Flightplan Records was established in 2007 and has also released records from Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer and Reunion.

ONE SMALL STEP FOR LANDMINES – U.S. Tour (Jan 30 – Mar 01)
——————————————————-
* in support of Self-titled debut – out now on Civil Defense League / Doghouse Records
* touring with The Frantic, Yearling
* Help the band – Bring your used cooking oil to the show!

One Small Step For Landmines (Tallahassee, F.L.) will be leaving tomorrow for a month-long tour of the U.S. in support of their Self-titled debut. The record was released on September 11, 2007 by Civil Defense League, the Doghouse imprint created by Sparta front man Jim Ward.

For this particular tour, the boys have acquired a bus that runs on veggie oil. Not only is the band conscious of the environment, they just made eating fried chicken, onion rings and cheese curds a lot more fun! Complimentary tickets are available for anyone who shows up to the venue with a bucket of used grease.

Seriously though…don’t do that. However, drop me a line if you work for or know someone who owns a restaurant and is willing to help out. Restaurants have to pay for someone to haul away that junk, but Landmines will do it for free!

One Small Step For Landmines has a nifty habit of cranking out angular-yet-driving guitars lines and unforgettable melodies, building massively catchy songs around rapid-fire drums and a propulsive bass line. This Florida three piece is dynamically compelling as they are unpredictable and explosive.

SLINGSHOT DAKOTA – Stream The New Full-Length Now!
—————————————————
* Their Dreams Are Dead, But Ours Is The Golden Ghost streaming at ThePunkSite.com
* 6-week U.S. Tour routed for March – April

Their Dreams Are Dead, But Ours Is The Golden Ghost, the new record from Brooklyn N.Y. / Easton, P.A. duo Slingshot Dakota is now streaming at ThePunkSite.com. The full-album stream will only be available through January 27th; go here to check it out.

Sure, they’re a two piece now, but Slingshot Dakota’s Golden Ghost is unquestionably warmer, more textured and dynamic than anything the band has ever written. While heartfelt melodies still anchor the duo’s compelling sound, Slingshot has injected a bit of that ol’ punk rock abandon – not to mention a heaping does of good times – into the mix. The result is as tender as it is raucous and fun.

Ten irresistibly engaging songs recorded by Latterman’s Phil Douglas…order a copy directly from Slingshot Dakota via their myspace page or pick up a copy directly from Carly and Tom as they tour the U.S. for six weeks in March and April. Shows are currently being booked but you can check out the routing here.

ANDY THE DOOR BUM / 2013 WOLVES On Tour…
Sinners Get Ready!
—————————————————————————-
* The World Famous Milestone Club Hits The Road (in spirit, of course)
* Southeast tour (Jan 14 – 22)

Obviously, Charlotte, North Carolina’s Milestone Club isn’t going anywhere…but the people who make it run are.

Andy The Door Bum, the Milestone’s resident door dude / bearded troubadour is teaming up with the venue’s owner Neal Harper and sound guy Robert Childers — collectively known as 2013 Wolves — for a short tour of the Southeast (Jan 14 – 22).

If you’d like to cover or attend the show, please contact chuck@beartrappr.com

TOUR
—————————————————————————-
JAN 14 – Atlanta, GA @ Lenny’s w/ The Ruins, Wye Oak
JAN 15 – Athens, GA @ The Max Canada
JAN 16 – Charlotte, NC @ Snug Harbor
JAN 17 – Salisbury, NC @ Rainy Day Books w/ Two Corpse Garage
JAN 18 – Harrisonburg, VA @ Crayola House / Moustache Bash III
JAN 19 – Harrisonburg, VA @ Little Grill Collective w/ Buck Gooter, Flying Werewolves
JAN 20 – Morgantown, WV @ 213 Green St Art Space
JAN 21 – Pomeroy, OH @ Court Street Grill
JAN 22 – Asheville, NC @ Joli Rouge

Andy’s latest release, Mt. Holly Sessions, is overflowing with hell-raising, bare bones, acoustic punk rock gems, but underneath it all he never fails to deliver an undeniable melody and a sucker-punch knockout hook. This door bum can flat-out write, and whether his inspiration stems from The Milestone or his personal demons, there’s no denying the artistry…and boisterous, fun-loving riot contained within.

While 2013 Wolves tread similar ground — at least in terms of the raw, fiery Southern scrawl pouring from the speakers — this instrumental duo is equally fluent in math rock as they are in garage punk. The band’s stories are more abstract, but the melodic thrash of the guitar and drums is universally understood.
