LOOK MEXICO – Touring in Support of New Record
——————————————————-
* The Crucial Collection out February 12 on Lujo Records
* U.S. tour (Feb 14 – Apr 05) – shows with Bear Colony, Band Marino, more

Road junkies Look Mexico (Tallahassee, F.L.) will be leaving tomorrow for a six-week tour of the U.S. in support of their latest release, The Crucial Collection, which is available from Lujo Records as of yesterday.

As the title suggests, The Crucial Collection is a compilation of just about everything that the band has released…save for their recent debut full-length This Is Animal Music (also available from Lujo). Fourteen songs to round out your Look Mexico catalog, including the remixed and remastered Crucial EP, the remastered So Byzantine EP, two tracks from the Japanese release of Animal Music, cover songs and exclusive b-sides you won’t find anywhere else. Pick up your copy here.

In other news, the boys are preparing to record a track for a split 7-inch with bosom buddies Fake Problems. The vinyl will be the first offering from Suburban Home’s Under the Influence 7-inch series. Details about which cover song Look Mexico will be tackling are sparse, but rumor has it that listening to it will be like looking…through glass… at Brandy…who is a fine girl.

It’s “Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl)” from Looking Glass. I tried really hard to make that work somehow.

In any case, it’s redundant to say that Look Mexico will be touring in support of The Crucial Collection and other upcoming releases because Look Mexico are always touring in support of something. Nevertheless, I figure that some of you might want to catch what is always an awesome and entertaining show by one of my favorite live bands.

STATIC RADIO NJ – Recording Debut Full Length @ The Machine Shop
——————————————————-
* Recording to begin at production studio in late February
* Album scheduled for Summer 2008 release by Black Numbers

Fresh off their supporting slot on the Hot Water Music reunion show, Static Radio NJ (New Brunswick, N.J.) has announced plans for their yet-to-be-named debut full length via Black Numbers .

In late February, the band will begin recording in Hoboken, New Jersey with acclaimed production company The Machine Shop (Armor For Sleep, Boys Night Out, Every Time I Die). Will Putney will be producing.

After recent tours of the U.S. and Europe, the next few months will find our boys sticking close to home to work on the record, but plans for the early summer release of Static Radio NJ’s debut full length include a U.S. / Canadian tour as well as an extended trip to the United Kingdom and mainland Europe.

Static Radio NJ’s debut EP One for the Good Guys is available now through Black Numbers. Listen to a free mp3 for the title track here.
